You can now submit names of former state policy makers, educational leaders or private citizens who have made notable, state-level contributions to the improvement of Kentucky’s public education system for the 2025 Karem Award of Excellence in Education Policy.
Nominations for the award are open through March 10 and can be submitted online.
Criteria for the award include:
- Demonstrated leadership in policy development, passage or implementation resulting in increased educational opportunities for students
- Improved educational, postsecondary or workforce outcomes for students
- and/or Increased capacity of teachers or school staff to better meet the academic, social or emotional needs of Kentucky students
The award will be presented at the Kentucky Board of Education’s June meeting. Nominations can be submitted here.
