Bro. William Edward “Ed” Harp, 82, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Colonial Center Nursing Home in Bowling Green. He was the son of the late Theodore “Jack” Harp and Effie Johnson Harp. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Harp; one daughter Teresa Harp Dennison and one brother, Gene Harp; brothers-in-law, Walter Webb and Lonnie Vincent.
Ed retired after working as a heavy equipment operator in both coal and rock quarries. He was a true definition of a handyman; he could fix or build anything. He enjoyed reading his bible, attending church, gardening and fishing. Ed cherished a lot of things, but nothing could compare to the love he had for his grandchildren.
He is survived by– two daughters, Christy Harp Stice and Renee Fogle; two sons, Will Harp (Alecia) and Timmy Harp; two sisters, Marilyn “Gray” Vincent and Mildred Webb; one brother, Gary Harp; brother-in-law, Elbert Dennison; grandchildren, Kristin Nicole Stice Swinton (Jonathan), Abby Breanne Stice Graham (Zack), Adri Harp, Kalob Harp, Misty Bryant (Chris), Amber Avery (Tom), Brandy Flucker (Brandon), Daniel Dennison and great-grandchildren, Rilee Nicole Swinton, Easton Michael Graham, Colby Moutardier, Sydney Moutardier, Jada Decker, Meadow Decker, Garrett Lee Dennison, Logan Connor Phillips and Keyton Dennison. He is also survived by the staff at Colonial Center, who took such exceptional care of him.
The funeral service for Ed Harp will be at 11 am Tuesday at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. Interment to follow at Anneta United Baptist Church Cemetery.
