Don H. Goidel age 84, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Don was born in Sheffield, Alabama, on October 14, 1939, and was a graduate of College High in Bowling Green and Western Kentucky University. He retired from Bank One, after a career working in finance. In recent years, he took great joy volunteering his time at Christ Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Allen Goidel, by a granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Goidel, and by his parents, Charles Stanley Goidel and Bess Hamilton Goidel.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Perkins Goidel; his children, Charles Hamilton Goidel and Robert Kirby Goidel; daughter-in-law, Beth Goidel, grandchildren, Allison Goidel, Carrington Collins, Hannah Solorio, and Spencer Goidel, and great grandchildren, Grayson Goidel and Jakobi Collins, and Selena and Robert Solorio. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 1:00pm at Christ Episcopal Church located at 1215 State Street Bowling Green, KY 42101. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:30am until time of service at 1:00pm.
Inurnment will be in the Church Columbarium.
