Georgia Mae Carter

Georgia Mae Carter passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving parents June 8, 2024, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She was born on September 17, 2023 in Elizabethtown, KY, the daughter of Blake and Taylor Carter.

During Georgia’s 8.5 short months on Earth, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by many family members and friends. She fought a hard battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia for four months and is now with the Lord. Her beautiful smile and those big blue eyes could light up a room. She loved to dance, but she especially loved to watch every move her big brother Crew made.Other than her parents she is survived by the best big brother, Crew; maternal- grandparents, Doris and Mike Houchin and paternal-grandparents Pam and John Carter all of Leitchfield. Georgia is also survived by many aunts and uncles , Tez Hawkins (Scott), Jake Carter (Haley), Drake Carter (Kayla), Drew Carter (Becca), and Balue Carter (Gabby). First Cousins include Ty, Dain, Jett, Maelee, Rosie, Brooks, Lyla, and Riley Kate. She is also survived by many great aunts, great uncles, and lots of other family members who loved her dearly.

Georgia was preceded in death by four sets of her great- grandparent’s.

Through Georgia’s time at Cincinnati Children’s, The Carter’s grew to love many people. A special thanks to all her wonderful doctors, nurses and medical staff. To the families still there, know each and every one of you touched us and we thank you for all the prayers and support during our time. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts. An additional thanks goes out to Georgia’s supporters and our little hometown. Thank you for praying for our baby girl!

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (June 14, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Joe Hall will be officiating. Burial will be in the Basham Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
