Bro. Carlon Fields age 86 of Upton passed away Saturday morning at his home. He was born on June 9, 1937 to the late Clyde & Pauline Caswell Fields. He was saved at the age of 13, married his wife of 67 years, Burlene Meredith, on April 20, 1957.
He was called to preach and ordained as a minister on March 30, 1975, and he was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Melva Copelin.
He is survived by his wife Burlene Meredith Fields; two daughters Carla Bragg(Dalton) of Edmonton and Myra Cottrell(Brian) of Upton; six grandchildren Sarah Jones, Ashley Poynter(Wesley), Dana Woosley(Devon), Jared Bragg(Rayanna), Holly Pence(Dustin), and Caden Cottrell; seven great-grandchildren Lucas & Blake Jones, Kalley & Lanon Poynter, Reagan & Madison Woosley and Ellie Bragg; three brothers Sonny Fields(Dorothy), Ronnie Fields(Barbara) & Wendell Fields; three sisters Norvella Copelin, Janice Riggs(Hubert) and Rita Riggs(Kenton).
The funeral service for Bro. Carlon Fields will be 1pm CDT Wednesday, June 5th at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8pm, Tuesday from 9am-8pm and Wednesday from 9am-12pm at the Sego Funeral Home.
