(LETCHER COUNTY JAIL)
WHITESBURG – On Friday, February 9, an indictment warrant was issued in reference to an ongoing investigation being conducted by Detectives with KSP Post 13, Hazard.
Through investigation, Brian W. Bailey, 54, of Benham, a former school teacher at Whitesburg Middle School, was indicted on charges relating to inappropriate contact and communication with a juvenile female dating back to November 2023. Bailey was arrested for the indictment and charged with (3) three counts of possess/view matter portraying sexual performance of a minor, Rape 3rd Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Bailey was lodged in the Letcher County Jail. This incident remains under investigation by Detective Scott Caudill.
