Two Scottsville residents are facing new charges in a case involving a juvenile.
In August, the Department for Community Based Services contacted the Scottsville Police Department for assistance regarding a juvenile who was hired to supervise children while the parents were at work. The juvenile lived with 34-year-old Trever L. Johnson and 30-year-old Amber E. Caldwell, both of Scottsville.
An investigation determined that in lieu of payment for supervising the children, the adults gave marijuana to the juvenile as a form of payment. Johnson and Caldwell were charged with second degree unlawful transaction with a minor and lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
Through further investigation by Scottsville Police Department detectives, on October 2nd, Johnson and Caldwell were charged with human trafficking, forced labor, victim younger than 18. They were lodged in the Allen County Detention center on $50,000 cash bond.
