BELFRY – On Sunday, Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post was notified of a two-vehicle fatal collision in Pike County at approximately 9:48 p.m. The collision occurred on State Highway 292 W in the Belfry community of Pike County.
Upon arrival and through investigation, troopers discovered Jacob Walls, 35, of Turkey Creek was operating a Honda Rebel motorcycle when he failed to stop for a red traffic light and collided with a Chevrolet Captiva, operated by Brionna Spence, 24, of Matewan. Walls was transported to Tug Valley ARH where he later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Trooper James Cress.
Trooper Cress was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Turkey Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and Appalachian First Response Ambulance Service.
