May 30, 2023 (McLean Co., KY) — The US Geological Survey website confirms that two earthquakes hit McClean County on Monday night. Both quakes happened a few miles west of Calhoun shortly before 10:00pm.
Most reports were from people feeling some shaking, but there were no reports of damage. One quake measured 3.0 on the Richter scale, and the other was 2.5.
The stronger tremblor was felt as far away as Owensboro.
