Police arrest man after alleged assaults at pizza restaurant

GLASGOW — Police in Glasgow said a man assaulted several employees and officers at a pizza restaurant during an altercation on Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to Little Caesar’s Pizza along West Cherry Street around 2:30 p.m. Officers made contact with the store manager and learned several employees had been assaulted. A man allegedly came into the store and demanded pizzas before he attempted to leave without paying for them.

Ryan T. Woodard was identified as the subject. He later became combative with police when they arrived.

Two officers were treated at TJ Samson Hospital and were later released. They sustained minor injuries, according to a news release. Employees were treated at the scene for minor injuries, too. Woodard was treated and later jailed.

The man faces several charges, including first degree robbery, resisting arrest, four counts of third degree assault (police officer), three counts of fourth degree assault, second degree disorderly conduct, first degree criminal mischief, menacing and public intoxication.

Sgt. Wesley Hicks arrested Woodard.
