Dec 23, 2022 | 4:59 PM

GLASGOW — A house along West Cherry Street caught fire early Friday morning.

Glasgow Fire responded to the suspected fire around 1:13 a.m. at 533 W. Cherry St., according to a news release. The fire was found isolated in one room of the home.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and ensured it did not spread throughout the home. Officials were on scene just under one hour.

Glasgow Fire Chief William Rock told WCLU News temperatures were just above 0 degrees while fire personnel were on scene. A wave of winter weather blanketed much of the region late Thursday and early Friday.

The displaced residents were placed in alternative living arrangements at a shelter.

Barren-Metcalfe EMS assisted at the scene.
