GLASGOW — Tax season is about to begin in Barren County.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office will begin accepting tax payments on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Those will be received at the sheriff’s office.
Yellow cards will be mailed to property owners at the end of October, according to a news release from the BCSO. Citizens should expect them the first week of November. Those paying by Nov. 30 will receive a 2% discount.
Property Tax Information in Barren County
- Pay with cash, check or credit card (a 3% charge is applied for card use).
- Ways to pay your taxes
- Pay in-person. You must bring your yellow card.
- Pay by mail. Send your yellow card with payment to 117-1B N. Public Square in Glasgow, KY 42141. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want a receipt.
- Pay through the drop-box located inside the Barren County Government Center. It is in the window to the left of the front doors. Payments may be dropped at any time.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office will be open two Saturdays in November to accept payments.

As a reminder, the BCSO will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day and Nov. 24-26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
