Glasgow residents Blake Aaron Hensley and Daniel Wright have graduated from the Kentucky State Police Training Academy and received assignments to Post 3 in Bowling Green, according to KSP. They were among 40 members of Cadet Class 107 honored Oct. 30 in Frankfort.

Austin Stinson, of Scottsville, also received an assignment to Post 3. The three graduates will begin careers as state troopers following 24 weeks of academy training.

Hensley also earned an associate degree in general occupational and technical studies through Bluegrass Community and Technical College during the academy program. He was among 13 members of the graduating class to earn the degree while completing their training, according to KSP.

The class reported to the academy May 17 and completed more than 1,000 hours of classroom and field study. Subjects included constitutional law, first aid, criminal investigation, evidence collection, crash investigation and search and seizure.

Gov. Andy Beshear joined KSP officials to honor the graduates. KSP Commissioner Phillip Burnett Jr. praised the class for completing the academy and committing to public service.

“Becoming a Kentucky State Police Trooper takes grit, determination and a genuine commitment to the people we serve,” Burnett said.

Capt. Joey Vorbeck, commander of the KSP Academy, said the training tested cadets physically and academically while developing their judgment and character.

“They have demonstrated tremendous growth and earned the opportunity to take the next step in their careers,” Vorbeck said.
