A body has been found in a corn field near the intersection of White Street and Gillenwater Street in Cave City.
Cave City Police Chief Paul Reynolds said a farmer found the body while harvesting his crop Tuesday afternoon.
“We had a person who has been missing two weeks tomorrow,” Reynolds told Glasgow News 1. “The body found fits the description of the clothes he was wearing.”
In a later press release, the Cave City Police Department stated the individual found is suspected to be John Adwell.
Reynolds said there will be an autopsy Wednesday to verify the identity.
The police chief said the department had flown drones over the field a couple of times since the disappearance, but did not see anything. Reynolds confirmed where the body was found is in the area where the missing man was last seen.
The Cave City police press release stated this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding John Adwell is encouraged to call the Glasgow Dispatch at 270-651-5151.
