Gil Harwood, 60, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Medical Center at Scottsville.
The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of the U. S. Postal Service, a member of the 1981, 1982 and 1984 Regional Championship Basketball team, 2024 Allen County Hall of Fame inductee, avid golfer and member of the Scottsville County Club where he proudly was credited with 13 Holes-in-One and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served as pianist. He was a son of the late Harlin Clay Harwood and Ramona “Tony” Marsh Harwood.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Kendra Williams Harwood, Scottsville, KY; 1 son: Blake Harwood and wife, Jamie, Scottsville, KY; 1 daughter: Amber Harwood, Scottsville, KY; 2 grandchildren: Brantley and Laken Harwood and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Eunice Williams, Scottsville, KY.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Stinson and Bro. Michael Wilson officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 8:00 a.m. Sunday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
