Brenda Lee Conley, age 83, of Brownsville, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, August 2, 2026. An Edmonson County native, Brenda was born on September 20, 1942, to the late Noel and Hannah Ashley Vincent. Brenda was blessed to share life’s journey with her best friend and devoted husband, Johny Wayne Conley, whose love and companionship remained steadfast through the years.
Brenda dedicated many years of her working life to PBI Bank, where she served as a loan processor and teller before retiring. She considered it a privilege to help others, and her kindness and compassionate nature were evident in every interaction. Whether helping customers at the bank or visiting with her church family, friends or neighbors, Brenda had a special way of making people feel valued and loved.
As long as her health allowed, Brenda remained a devoted member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church, where her beautiful alto voice became a cherished part of the church choir, as well as the Madison Brothers Quartet. Music was one of God’s greatest gifts to Brenda, and she faithfully used that gift to bless others throughout her life. For many years, Brenda joined her precious mom, dad, brother, and sister in sharing the beautiful hymn, “Footprints in the Sands of Time,” a family tradition that reflected their deep faith and love for the Lord. Like the beloved hymn, Brenda left footprints that will continue to guide and inspire future generations for many years to come.
Besides her beloved husband, Johny, she leaves to cherish her memory– her siblings, Jack Vincent (Patty) of Mt. Washington and Karen Franklin of Bowling Green, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved as her own. While Brenda’s family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they find comfort in knowing they’ll one day be reunited in that heavenly choir.
The interment will be in Poplar Spring Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Poplar Spring Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Anthony Madison.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at Poplar Spring United Baptist Church. Visitation is 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, and 9 until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.
