Elton Ewing Fancher, Savoyard

Jul 6, 2026 | 1:14 PM

Elton Ewing Fancher, of Savoyard, Kentucky, passed away July 3, 2026 peacefully at home. Born on July 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Edward “Billy” Fancher and Maulene Kelly Fancher.

Elton retired from RR Donnelley & Sons after 24 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed farming, tinkering with all kinds of farm equipment, and was happiest outdoors. Whether working on the farm or casting a line in the water, Elton found joy in the simple things, especially spending time fishing with his grandsons.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet determination, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He never met a piece of equipment he wasn’t willing to take apart, and he took great pride in caring for his farm and the people he loved.

Elton is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Jeffries Fancher; his stepdaughter, Melissa M. Parocai; his former son-in-law, Alex J. Parocai; his grandsons, William A. Parocai and Ian W. Parocai; his sister, Rhonda Simpson and her husband, Jonathan; his nephews, Ryan Simpson, Jarrett Simpson, Kelly Wayne Logsdon, and Gary Powell (Liz); and his niece, Kristina Dockins (Travis).

In addition to his parents, Elton was preceded in death by his brother, Alton Fancher, and his sister, Betty Parker.

In keeping with Elton’s wishes, he will be cremated, and private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barren River Animal Welfare Association (BRAWA), to the charity of the donor’s choice, or by planting a tree in Elton’s memory, a tribute that reflects his love of the outdoors.

Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
