Thelma Melvin, age 94, of Horse Cave, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. She attended Cave Springs Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and planting flowers. Thelma worked as a seamstress at Horse Cave Sewing Company, and was a Salesman for Watkins Products.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Green, and Mattie Denton Green; two brothers, Tommy Green, and Bobby Green; one sister, Dorothy Kerr. She is survived by her son, Larry Melvin (Mary); two grandchildren, Laura Doyle, and Gary Melvin; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Toohey (Travis), Thomas Doyle (Patience), and Matthew Doyle; three great-great-grandchildren, Makaylee, Rylan, and Fenix; one brother, Ray Green (Phyllis).
Honoring Thelma’s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Winn Funeral Home.
