King Edward Martin, 65, of Cave City, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, due to injuries sustained from an accident.
King was a faithful member of Owens Chapel Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the Brotherhood Choir. During his spare time, King loved working on lawnmowers and cars and was known as an all-around handyman. He held degrees in small block engines and brick laying. King also enjoyed playing basketball and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving man who never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Priscilla Ann Martin; his son, Kennedy Martin; his father, Rev. Lester Martin; one brother, Nathaniel Martin; and one sister, Muriel Martin.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Amber Martin; three sons, Travis Martin, Tyson Martin, and Kenyon Martin; three grandchildren, Titan Martin, Za’hari Martin, and Zy’eemah Martin; his mother, Geneva Martin; one brother, Felix Martin (Crystal); one sister, Stephanie Martin; a special son, Tyrone Franklin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Owens Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. E.A. Duke officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the church.
