Glasgow dropped a pair of games in Florida on Thursday to wrap its time in the Sunshine State.
SCOTTIES 6, BETHLEHEM CHRISTIAN 12
Glasgow gave up four runs in the top of the fourth inning in its first game Thursday, and fell to Bethlehem Christian, Georgia, 12-6.
The Scotties had rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the third, but the Knights responded four runs in the top of the fourth.
In the third, Hudson Gumm led off with a single, but was picked off at first before Keaton Haynes was hit by a pitch.
Carter Hodges followed with a single that pushed Keaton Haynes to third. Thomas Glass drove in Keaton Haynes with a sacrifice fly.
Peyton Lemily, Garett Shields and Rashad Etheridge each saw time on the mound. They combined to give up 11 hits, strike out six and walk three.
Hodges and Haynes each hit doubles. They each also posted two hits, as did Landon Martin.
SCOTTIES 4, MUHLENBERG COUNTY 9
Much like the early game Thursday, Glasgow rallied to tie the game, but couldn’t turn that into a win.
The Scotties trailed the Mustangs 4-0 headed into the bottom of the third inning. There they posted four runs to tie the game 4-4.
Martin led off and was hit by a pitch. JP Pitcock followed with a single that put runners at first and second. Shields drove them both in with a double.
After a couple of outs, Gumm reached base when a ground ball he hit was misplayed. Shields remained at second.
Keaton Haynes followed and hit a single. He moved to second on a throwing error. Shields and Gumm both scored to tie the game 4-4.
Muhlenberg took control of the game with three runs in the top of the fifth, then added two more in the top of the seventh to set the final score.
Keaton Haynes pitched four-and-a-third innings. He allowed five hits, struck out two and walked four. Steven Garrett closed the game and allowed four hits, struck out four and walked three.
Keaton Haynes had two hits to lead at the plate, while Shields nailed the two-run double.
Glasgow returns to action Monday at Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m.
