Glasgow fell into a 5-0 hole at home against Hazard on Wednesday, and did not dig out. They lost, 5-4.
The Bulldogs earned only two of their five runs. They opened the game with three singles, and scored three runs in the first inning. Two of which were earned. They added two unearned runs in the second inning to lead 5-0.
The Scotties comeback attempt began in the third with a run scored by Hudson Gumm on a single by Carter Hodges.
Glasgow added two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Braylon Caldwell doubled to lead off. Cooper Hatton entered to run for him. Then Huston Haynes drew a one-out walk. Hatton eventually scored on a single by Gumm, then Haynes later scored on a wild pitch.
That left the Scotties down 5-3 headed into the bottom of the fifth. Hodges led off their with a solo-home run, but that was as close as they could get.
Thomas Glass opened on the mound for Glasgow. He pitched two innings, allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out one. Caldwell closed the final five innings. He allowed three hits, struck out two and walked one.
Hodges led at the plate with two hits, including the homer. Gumm also had two hits, while Caldwell, Glass and Steven Garrett nailed doubles in the game.
