Kentucky’s forest fire hazard season has officially begun, lasting from Feb.15 until April 30.

During this time, it is illegal to start a fire within 150 feet of woodland or brushland except between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. or if the ground is snow-covered.

The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet is tasked with spreading awareness about these restrictions, aimed at preventing wildfire hazards during this critical period. Team Kentucky advises that all fires be consistently attended until they are fully extinguished to ensure safety.
