Sharon Elaine Halsell, 62, of Mammoth Cave died Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side. The Edmonson County native was a 1980 graduate of Edmonson County High School, a homemaker, and a faithful member of the Nolin United Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Nelson Smith and Zula Brooks Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, Shane Halsell.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Danny Halsell; two daughters, Toni Danielle Brown of Mammoth Cave and Amanda King (Tony) of Chalybeate; two sons, Troy Halsell and Colton Halsell ( Holly) both of Mammoth Cave; one sister, Mary Meredith (Dwight) of Mammoth Cave; four brothers, Charles Smith (Martha), Jimmy Smith (Marcia), Ernie Smith (Karen) all of Mammoth Cave and Keith Smith (Melanie) of Horse Cave; 14 grandchildren, Sabbie, Alexis, Carter, Greyson, Bentley, Victoria, Gracie, Sara, Thea, Tucker, Tinsley, Adison, Bennett, and Chloe; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 30 at Nolin United Baptist Church with burial to follow in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will take place at 12:00 PM Friday, August 29, at Nolin United Baptist Church until the time of the service.
