Paving crews will be making repairs beginning Sunday night, (November 17) at various locations from Mile Markers 91-98 along I-65 Northbound in Hardin County. Work will begin at 8pm and continue until 6am Monday.
The northbound direction of the interstate will be reduced to the inside (fast) lane during this time. Due to the proximity of one repair spot to northbound ramps at the Western Kentucky Parkway (WK) interchange, ramps onto Northbound I-65 from the interchange will be closed. Motorists needing access onto Northbound I-65 at Exit 91 (including Eastbound WK Parkway motorists) must either detour southbound I-65 to Glendale then come northbound or take alternate routes to access I-65 north of Exit 91.
The northbound off ramp at Exit 91 will remain open. Work is being scheduled during lowest traffic volumes to minimize impacts to motorists and provide less congested working conditions for safety and efficiently of paving crews.
Monday night, work will shift to the I-65 Southbound side between Mile Markers 92-91. Traffic will be reduced to one lane 8pm until 6am Tuesday. No Exit 91 ramp closures are required for Monday night. Crews will also be paving a WK Parkway Westbound location Monday night between Mile Markers 136-135 with a lane closure in effect.
While paving repairs are being conducted during low-volume traffic hours, motorists are reminded to pay close attention to work zone signs and slow down. Be prepared for slow and/or stopped traffic ahead and minimize distractions.
