Mr. Richard Lewis Claywell of Louisville, Kentucky, formally of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Radcliff Veterans Center in Radcliff, Kentucky having attained the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 2 days. He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Monday, October 28, 1940, the son of Illus and Lovell (Easter) Claywell. Mr. Claywell was of the Christian faith, and was a member at the Little Flock Baptist Church. He worked for General Electric as a production worker, a member of the Masonic Lodge, an U.S. Army helicopter gunner, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Claywell, Rollind Claywell, Harley Wayne Claywell, sister, Helen Elmore, and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife Magdalene ( Pharris) Claywell, whom he wed on Thursday, August 7, 1975, daughter, Ladonna (& Larry Toth) Claywell, siblings, Bennie Earl Claywell all of Louisville, Kentucky, Lyle Webster Claywell, Shirley (& Winfred) Loyall all of Hodgenville, Kentucky, grandchild, Andrea(& Ben) Lancaster of Louisville, Kentucky, great-grandchild, Asher Lancaster .
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. The Family will receive friends after 2:00 p.m on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the funeral home until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
