Julia Gertrude Basham Hardin, 88, of Roundhill passed away peacefully with family by her side May 31, 2024 at her home.
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Wiley Basham and Pearl Miller Basham and the wife of the late Randall Leroy “Slick” Hardin. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Basham and Phillip Basham; four sisters, Leon Spinks, Luzon Forbes, Inez Elmore and Laverne Basham; and two grandsons, Brandon Tarter and Jason Hardin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cub Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM-7:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday.
Surviving are three daughters, Reneva Hardin Tarter (Harlin) of Silent Grove, Levetta Runyon of Louisville and Regina Daugherty (Eddie) of Bowling Green; a son, Randy “Rockman” Hardin of Big Reedy; a sister, Frankie Anderson; nine grandchildren, Bradley Tarter, Jamie Melton, Brent Fields (Rebecca), Clint Fields, David Bryant (Crystal), Miranda Phillips (Cole), Amy Frazier, Jesse Daugherty and Natalie Sumner; 11 great grandchildren, Samantha Melton, Haley Melton, Ashley Melton, Trey Melton, Rodney Bryant, Madison Tarter, Halle Hardin, Jacey Phillips, Andrew Fields, Elizabeth Fields and Ember Fields; two brothers-in-law, Charles Hardin (Marthie) and Larry Joe Hardin (Elaine); two sisters-in-law, Janice Hardin and Jean Lindsey (Stanley); and a special caregiver, Kathy Martin.
