“On 05/24/2024 at approximately 8:10 pm, the Glasgow Police Department responded to McKenna Street in reference to a shooting incident.
Upon arrival, Officers determined that 20 year old Christopher Rye had been into a verbal altercation with a juvenile which led to Rye brandishing a firearm and firing multiple times in the direction of the juvenile and other individuals.
The juvenile was struck in the abdomen area and was treated by the Barren/Metcalfe EMS, he was later transported to the University of Louisville Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Christopher Rye of Glasgow Ky. was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree (1 count), Wanton Endangerment (3 counts).
He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center by Detective Sergeant Aaron Cowan. “
