Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in Nelson County Tuesday afternoon that resulted in the death of an Oklahoma man.
On Tuesday, May 21, at approximately 2:06 P.M. EDT, KSP Post 4 was advised of a single-vehicle collision on the Bluegrass Parkway near the 34 mile-marker.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Kevin Long, 58, of Norman, OK, was operating a 2023 BMW R1250 motorcycle eastbound on the Bluegrass Pkwy when, for unknown reasons, he exited the shoulder of the roadway and was ejected from the vehicle.
Long was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Nelson Co. Coroner’s Office.
The roadway remained open while troopers worked to investigate the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Nelson Co. Sheriff’s Office, Bardstown Police Department, Nelson Co. EMS and the Nelson Co. Coroner’s Office. The collision remains under investigation by Master Trooper Kevin Davis.
