The Barren Beyond the Bell program, an after-school initiative offered across the Barren County School District, has been nominated for the prestigious Best of the Barrens award.
This accolade, which recognizes outstanding community contributions, underscores the program’s significant impact on students and families throughout the district.
CheyAnne Fant, Nutrition Services and Barren Beyond the Bell Director, spoke to WCLU about the program.
Programs are not just for school aged children as the Beyond the Bell’s “Little Learners” are targeted to children 1-5 years old.
Parent of one of those little learners is Stephanie Dillon said, “Our family has been a part of Little Learners from the start…They do an excellent job of keeping parents updated throughout the day with information on the activities the kids are doing and how well they are eating and resting.”
Starting over a decade ago, Beyond the Bell has been the pioneer for extracurricular activities, as Fant points to.
Parents and students alike have praised the program for its role in enhancing educational outcomes and providing valuable opportunities for personal development.
The nomination of Beyond the Bell highlights its contribution to the community, particularly in supporting working families by offering a reliable and enriching after-school option.
Voting for the Best of the Barrens award is open to the public, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony later this summer.
Supporters of the Beyond the Bell program are encouraged to cast their votes and celebrate the achievements of this vital community resource.
