Robert Dale Harris, 56, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Thursday, February 23rd, at his home. Robert was born in Tompkinsville, KY on May 9, 1966, a son of the late Eugene “Gene” and Barbara Jean (Birge) Harris.
He was the fiancé of Patricia “Patty” Curtis, who survives. They were together for eleven years.
He was a jack of all trades, he worked in tobacco, construction, and as a mechanic. He loved to go ginseng hunting, go noodling for turtles, go fishing and hunting. Everyone that knew him also knows that he loved his beer and yes he loved smoking his wacky weed, as he called it.
In addition to his fiancé, he is survived by two brothers, Jimmy Lee Harris (Judith), of Tompkinsville, KY, Evans “Sambo” Harris (Betty) of Lafayette, TN; two sisters, Candy Strong and Brenda Kaye Davis (Danny) of Tompkinsville. He is also survived by four stepchildren that he called them, Samantha Pruitt, Anthony, Michael and Nathan Pedigo.
He was the Poppy of David, Branson, Nioka, Jaylynn, Grayson, Dakota, Logan and Gabriel, whom he loved so much. His grandchildren were his world.
He is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, James “Jim Buck” Birge, Stevie Gene Harris, a sister, Rita Faye Howard, special niece, JaKayla Howard and brother-in-law, Roy Strong.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
Visitation is Tuesday, after 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
