Jeffery O. Neal, 48, was jailed Thursday evening after police connected him to an incident involving a suspected pipe bomb inside a Redwood Street home.

GLASGOW — Officers arrested a Park City man Thursday night after locating an explosive device in a bedroom closet at a house along Redwood Street.
Jeffery O. Neal, 48, was arrested around 9:22 p.m. Police responded initially around 4:36 p.m. in reference to an incident involving weapons. Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with a woman who said there was an explosive device in the bedroom closet, according to an arrest citation.
Officers evacuated the area and notified Kentucky State Police Bomb Detection Unit, according to a news release from Glasgow Police. The FBI and KSP responded to the scene and determined the device was a pipe bomb. Officials determined the device had a fuse and gunpowder.
The alleged bomb was detonated in a safe manner and it was removed from the area. Officers located two handguns inside a vehicle and two more inside the residence.
Neal faces one charge of third-degree use of a weapon of mass destruction. He was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
