GLASGOW — A special prosecutor has been appointed in the case involving the murder of a Glasgow man last summer.

Michael O. Logsdon, 75, died on July 9, 2022, at his Tanglewood Drive home. His daughter, Leighanne Bennett, 46,  was arrested last November in connection to his death. Logsdon’s wife, Donna, was arrested on Jan. 14 as a part of the death investigation. The two have now been indicted.

A grand jury returned the indictments after a session on Jan. 13, 2023. Both indictments accuse the defendants of murder.

Bennett remains out of jail due to a previously cited medical condition while Logsdon remains jailed on a $500,000 cash bond. The judge noted on the indictment she could be released if 10% of the bond was paid and certain conditions were followed.

Jason Rothrock, a special prosecutor from the Office of the Attorney General, is listed as the prosecutor in the case. He is expected to remain as the prosecutor since Barren County Commonwealth Attorney John Gardner cited a conflict of interest with the case. It remains unclear what that conflict is, however.

Little is known about Logsdon’s death since police have kept many of the details under the shield of the open investigation. They alleged Logsdon’s death resulted after his BIPAP machine – a breathing device – was turned off.

Information surfaced after Bennett’s arrest from her older sister, Terri Jo Harris, regarding their father’s condition at the time of his death. She told WCLU News he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Police did not confirm this detail, however.

Logsdon is scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. Bennett is scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.
