Mr. Carey E. Holland, age 56, of Tompkinsville passed away peacefully on
Monday, December 6, 2021, at his residence. Carey was born in Tompkinsville
on November 9, 1965 a son of the late Bro. Melvin Eugene and Merlean
(Cornwell) Holland. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Christensen on
May 28, 2016. He was currently employed by R&S Pharmaceuticals and had
worked at RR Donnelly for twenty-two years. Carey was a car show enthusiast
in every aspect and an avid University of Tennessee VOLS fan, he attended
Concord Missionary Baptist Church.
Carey is survived by his wife; Elizabeth Holland of Tompkinsville, three
step-children; Elizabeth Canning of Lincoln, Nebraska; Kurtis Winter
(Brittany,) of Columbia, Kentucky; and Taryn Winter of Glasgow, Kentucky;
his step-grandchildren; Autumn and Summer Winter, Charlotte Canning, and
Baby Girl Due in April, one aunt; Anna Dare Poland, and a host of cousins
and friends survive.
In addition to his parents, Bro. Melvin and Merlean Holland, he was
preceded in death by three uncles; Carlos, James, and Guy Holland, four
aunts; Naomi Holland, Iva Crague, Lena Cherry, and Mable Cornwell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11,
2021 from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in The
Beautiful Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening
from 4 until 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday Morning from 9:00 a.m. until
time for services at 1. Bro. John Thomas, and Bro. Bengie Blackwell will
officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests that friends plant a
tree in memory of Carey.
Pallbearers will be; Nathan Ware, Kurtis Winter, Joe White, Jamie King,
Bryan Hale, and Jerry Strode.
