GLASGOW, Ky. — Glasgow High School’s Abbie Lee was recently named the 4th Region Athlete of the Year. The accolade was awarded by the Kentucky Athletic Director’s Association.

Craig Cassady, Glasgow High School athletic director, described Lee’s career as “wonderful.”

“She had 15 varsity letter, eight in swimming and seven in golf,” Cassady said.

The athletic director said Lee has played in several championships, including numerous Class All-A state championships.

“And this past year, she was voted to the first team all-state by the golf association,” Cassady said.

Several student athletes were eligible for the accolade. Cassady said Lee’s accolade is one of great accomplishment.

“There’s some great golfers in the fourth region and the other sports as well,” Cassady said. “We have some very stiff competition.”

Cassady commended Lee’s character and said she always has a smile. She plans to pursue a golfing career at Middle Tennessee State University.

“With her skill level and all her accomplishments, she is now able to move on next year to play in the fall at Middle Tennessee State University,” Cassady said.
