WHITESBURG, Ky. (AP) — Police say three people were killed and two were injured in a head-on traffic crash in eastern Kentucky. A statement from Kentucky State Police says the collision happened Thursday evening on Kentucky 15 bypass in Whitesburg. The statement says an initial investigation found a northbound Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 58-year-old Gregory Branham crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle driven by 70-year-old Karen Jackson. Both drivers and one juvenile passenger were killed. Two other passengers were air-lifted to Pikeville Medical Center for serious injuries. Police didn’t release the names of the passengers or say which vehicle they were in.
