The Barren County Fiscal Court received their rural secondary program report, which is funding for county roads paid for by a tax on fuel.  Almost ¼ of the approximately $2.1 million allotment will be used to resurface a portion of the Nobob Road.  Nearly 15% of the money will be used to resurface the Merry Oaks-Railton Road.  Another $282,923 is designated as flex funding for the county to use at it’s discretion while over $700k will be used for routine maintenance.

In related news, the Barren County Road Department has changed it’s hours for employees.  They will now work four 10-hour days and hod regular office hours from 6:30am to 5pm.
