BURKESVILLE — Two people, including a Cave City woman, died in a crash in Cumberland County Tuesday.
State police said they responded at 3:13 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash along Highway 90. The crash happened near the Metcalfe County line.
A preliminary investigation revealed Tara Reed, 49, of Cave City, was driving westbound along the roadway in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. She crossed the center line and hit a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu heading eastbound along the roadway. Bruce McCarty, 79, of Burkesville, was the driver of the other vehicle.
Both Reed and McCarthy and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Cumberland County Coroner.
The collision remains under investigation by Tpr. Brandon Roark.
