GLASGOW — It took a record-breaking performance, but Barren County’s Taylor Ogles brought home the gold in the Class 3A State Track Meet in Lexington, KY on Saturday.
The junior high jumper was able to clear 6-feet, 6-inches, which was not only his personal best, but also a school record.
According to the KHSAA, he is the first Trojan to win gold in the state high jump.
Other members of the Barren County Track & Field team took home accolades, as well:
- Gracie Reed placed fourth in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 11:19:03.
- Chesney McPherson placed eleventh in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 11:40:56.
- Makayla Brooks placed thirteenth in the pole vault with a height of 8-feet, 6-inches.
