GLASGOW — A man was arrested Friday on crimes related to the sexual abuse of two teenagers in Barren County.
Dwayne J. Muse, 22, admitted in an interview with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office he had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl and her 15-year-old sister. Muse was arrested at the sheriff’s office Friday.
Ken Thomas, a deputy with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, responded to South Gassaway Road on Tuesday in reference to a sexual abuse complaint. The deputy spoke with the victim’s foster mother and was provided information, according to an arrest citation.
The teenager apparently revealed to her foster mother that more instances of abuse had happened than she had earlier revealed. An emergent medical exam was performed, which revealed “significant findings of sexual assault” to the minor’s genitals.
A forensic interview was conducted with the victim, and she revealed the alleged suspect had forced her to have sexual intercourse the previous Saturday.
“She further stated, he informed her that he had a firearm in his vehicle and implied force,” a citation narrative said.
Another forensic interview was conducted with the victim and her 15-year-old sister. She alleged Muse had forced himself onto her last Sunday.
Authorities went Friday to Muse’s apartment in Franklin, and he agreed to travel to Barren County for an interview with authorities. He later admitted to them the youngest juvenile had performed a sexual act on him and he later sexually assaulted her, according to an arrest citation.
He also admitted he assaulted the other teenager, too.
Muse is lodged at the Barren County Detention Center. He is charged with two counts of first degree rape and one count of sodomy. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
