Mrs. Minnie Eldrane Proffitt, age 88, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passedaway peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at her home. She was born inThe Elbow Community of Monroe County on February 13, 1933, a daughter ofthe late Jim Pratt and Earnest Lestie (Cleary) Gearlds. She married AaronRex Proffitt on July 29, 1950, he preceded her in death on November14, 1974. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Church of Christ and enjoyedplaying Shanghai Rummy and Pitch with her friends. She is survived by her children; Jerry Thomas Proffitt, and wife Becky ofLakeland, Georgia, Cathy Jo Walden and husband JB of Burkesville, andTammie Joy Rich, and husband Tony of Tompkinsville. Eight grandchildren;Chris Walden (Kim,) Casey Walden (Amber,) Chad Walden (Brookie,) JeremyProffitt (Regina,) Bridget Mathis, Mollie Holmes (Dustin,) Brian Rich, ErinAdams (Jordan,) fourteen great-grandchildren, and twogreat-great-grandchildren on the way also survive. In addition to her parents, and husband Aaron Rex Proffitt, she waspreceded in death by five brothers; Homer, Luke, Lynn, J.C. and BossGearlds, six sisters; Lura Bartley, Ethel Bartley, Myrtie Key, AddieCrawford, Kathleen Gillenwater, and Madline Hammer, and one grandson CoreyJoseph Walden. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7,2021, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to followin Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Tim McHenry and Johnny Kelton willofficiate the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, 2021, after 2:00until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning after 7:00 a.m. until time forservices at 2:00.
