Aletha (Emmert) Walden

Aletha (Emmert) Walden, age 98, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Monroe County Medical Center. She was born on May 24, 1923 the daughter of Benton and Phoebe (Thompson) Emmert. She married Kenton Walden on June 30, 1945. She was a member of the Freewill Church of Christ and a member of Golden Thimble Quilters. Mrs. Walden was a retired garment factory worker and was known for her quilting skills and fried apple pies. She is survived by two sons, Anthony (Janice )Walden of Tompkinsville and J.B. (Cathy Jo) Walden of Burkesville; two daughters, Patricia Walden and Penny (Junior) Pickerell both of Tompkinsville; seven grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Walden, Carter (Mary Ann) Walden, Casey (Amber) Walden, Marty (Brandy) Walden, John Mark (Shannon) Pickerell, Chad (Brookie) Walden, Terri Beth (Chris) Ford; thirteen great grandchildren; Cole Walden, CJ Walden ( fiancée Ashley), McKinnley (Cole) Scott, Clint (Katelyn) Walden, Brylee Pickerell, Landri Walden, Caroline Walden, Alyssa Pickerell, Briley Sewell, Khalin Walden, Keagen Walden, Kennedy Walden, and Luke Ford. Two great-great grandchildren on the way, two sisters; Olivia Hall, and Dean Gettings, and one brother, Jack Emmert also survive. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Kenton Walden; one grandson, Cory Walden; one great grandson, Caden Walden; five brothers, Ervin, Francis, Ray, Joe, and Eugene Emmert; two sisters,Opal Bartley, and Geneva Dyer, and two infant siblings. Funeral Services for Mrs. Aletha will be conducted on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday morning from 7:00 a.m. until time for services at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Mt. Poland Cemetery or Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Those may be made at the funeral home or mailed to Bartley & Sons, 204 Columbia Avenue, Tompkinsville, KY 42167.
