(LUKE PIERCE/WCLU NEWS)

High School Football season kicks off tonight for most area teams and it begins at Glasgow High School with a doubleheader in the Don Franklin Scottie Bowl.

In the opening game at 5:00, Larue County takes on John Hardin. Then the Scotties face off against Woodford County around 8:00.

Glasgow is coming off a 7-3 season in which they fell in the class three “A” region championship game while the Yellow Jackets posted a 4-3 season before bowing out in the second round of the class five “a” playoffs.

In addition to our usual broadcast locations on WCLU 103.1 and 1490, this year you can also hear the games live on WILLIE 94.1.  Pregame coverage of the Glasgow/Woodford County game is expected to begin around 7:30 on those stations, as well as online at wcluradio.com or on the WCLU app.

Barren County opens their season tonight on the road at Metcalfe County.  The Trojans went 2-6 last season with a first round playoff loss while the Hornets finished 6-3 before exiting the playoffs in the region championship game. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 in Edmonton.
