Mrs. Cheryl Denise (Smith) Jones Powell of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at her residence having attained the age of 53 years, 8 months, and 1 day. She was born in Ohio on Friday, December 8, 1967, the daughter of Charles & Martha Smith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Jones, niece, Mary Smith.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Powell whom she wed on Thursday, October 18, 2001, of Albany, Kentucky, daughter, Casey Jones of Burkesville, Kentucky, step-daughters, Angela Dicken, Cindy Conaster, Wendy Latham all of Albany, Kentucky, siblings, Mary Studebaker of Ohio, Leslie Smith of Keavey, Kentucky, Ella Smith of Keavey, Kentucky, Melissa Smith of Corbin, Kentucky, Michelle Bolton of London, Kentucky, Toni Smith of Keavey, Kentucky, grandchild, Trystan Evers, step-grandchildren, Jonathan (& Dagan) Conatser, Bethany Conatser, C.J. (& Madison) Dicken, Ben Latham, Alli Latham, step-great-grandchildren, Braxton and Brylee.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Jimmy Powell officiating. The family receive friends on Thursday, August 12, 2021after 3:00 pm until the funeral hour on Friday. Burial will be in the Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
