Timothy “Timmy” Carroll Martin peacefully passed into the gates of heaven in his home in Horse Cave, KY, on Sunday August 8, 2021 surrounded by friends and family.
Timmy will be remembered by the community for his boisterous laugh and his incomparable ability to make people smile. He enjoyed playing pranks, working on his family farm, construction work, and was well known for his concrete skills. He received his eternal salvation on July 9, 1979 at the age of 13 at Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. He became an active member of Lonoke Baptist Church on November 20, 2000 where he acted as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Timmy was a past member and president of the Cave Country Saddle Club and past member of the Park City Young Farmer’s Association. Timmy married the love of his life, Cherry, on September 17, 1988 at Glasgow Baptist Church.
Timmy is preceded in death by his mother Jessal Mae Martin, his paternal grandparents Earl Martin and Kate Taylor Martin, his maternal grandparents Granville Minor and Lillie Mae Middleton Minor, and his father and mother-in-law Walter Jewell Gibbons and Lois Bowles Gibbons.
He is survived by his wife Cherry Gibbons Martin, father Carroll Martin, sisters Teresa Lindsey (Tim), Cindy Isenberg (Wesley), Jennifer Robbins (David), Jaime Wilkerson, sister-in-law Cheryl Renick (Phil), brother-in-law Michael Gibbons. Nephews and nieces Jake Lindsey (Aleasha), Josh Lindsey (Jessica), Ryan Renick (Alex), Aaron Caswell (Erica), Kori Renick, Kolton Isenberg, Briley Robbins, Jaylen Wilkerson, Dawson Robbins, Eli Wilkerson, Durham Renick, Case Lindsey, Baylee Kate Lindsey, Caity Mae Lindsey, and Jaxon Caswell. He is also survived by many friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave, KY on Tuesday August 10, 2021 from 11:00am to 8:00pm. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday August 11, 2021 with a viewing afterwards at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. If you would like to sit during the service, please plan to bring your own chair. Due to the recent climate of the pandemic, the family politely requests masks to be worn during visitation.
