On Tuesday, July 27, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office received information that a subject was growing marijuana plants in a garden, located at a residence on Liberty Schoolhouse Road.
The Sheriff’s Office, members of the Greater Hardin County Drug Task Force and Kentucky State Police Officer Desi West responded to the residence of John Wayne Gardner on Liberty Schoolhouse Road.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence, that resulted in three marijuana plants being found in the garden, methamphetamine, precursors for manufacturing methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and stolen road signs.

John Wayne Gardner, 60, of Hardyville, was arrested and lodged in the Hart County Detention Center for the following offenses:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of marijuana
- Cultivation of marijuana
- 1st degree manufacturing methamphetamine
- 1st degree unlawful possession of methamphetamine
- And receiving stolen property
