Apr 17, 2021 | 8:40 AM

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky has reported more than 700 new coronavirus cases and 15 additional virus-related deaths.

The state also reported a slightly higher rate of positive cases on Friday. Gov. Andy Beshear says more than 1.6 million Kentuckians have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. He says the state has more than a half-million doses of Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines available. The state says its rate of positive coronavirus cases continued to rise, reaching 3.51%.

The governor says the state has “come so far” but the fight against COVID-19 isn’t over.
