GLASGOW, Ky. — A Barren County man faces over 100 counts of crimes related to sex crimes involving a minor.

Glasgow Police served a search warrant March 2 at a home located along Tick Ridge Road. The warrant was granted after Glasgow Police Detective Guy Turcotte received information from New York State Police regarding an area man’s involvement in promoting a sex crime.

Authorities said Rex Wayne Stinson Jr., 22, was sending and receiving sexually explicit images through social media from a 12-year-old child. The minor lives in New York, a news release said.

Stinson was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a minor (under 18 years of age). He faces additional charges since his initial arrest.

Police charged Stinson with 70 counts of promoting a minor (under 16) in a sexual performance, 88 counts of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor and 70 counts of possessing or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Police confiscated several laptops, computers and electronic devices.
