Glasgow City Council is scheduled to consider electric bicycle and scooter regulations and a residential rezoning proposal at its Monday, Oct. 12 meeting, according to the agenda. The regular meeting will take place at the Luska J. Twyman Municipal Building in downtown Glasgow.
The bicycle and scooter ordinance will have a second reading. If approved, it will outline safety requirements, operating standards for juveniles, restrictions in certain public areas and enforcement provisions.
Under new business, council members are scheduled to consider a first reading of an ordinance affecting approximately 2.94 acres at 318 W. Washington St. The proposal would change the property’s zoning from R-2, medium-density residential, and OP, office and professional, to R-4, medium-density multifamily residential.
A Glasgow Police Department sergeant and lieutenant promotion presentation is also on the agenda.
Community announcements include the Far Off Broadway Players’ production of “Dracula,” based on Bram Stoker’s book, Oct. 16-18.
Glasgow Parks and Recreation’s free Halloween Fest is scheduled for Oct. 24 at Beaver Creek Park. The listed activities include a cruise-in from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Truck-or-Treat from 3 to 5 p.m. and an outdoor showing of “Wicked” at sunset.
