Opal Renneisen, 84, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Saturday morning, October 3, 2026.
Opal was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on January 16, 1942, to Carl R. Meisner and Pauline Annetta Meisner.
Opal had a gentle spirit, a sweet innocence, and a purity of heart that remained with her throughout her life. She had a trusting nature, a sincere love for people, and a compassion that drew her to those around her. She cared deeply for the people in her life and gave of herself freely. She found joy in the simple things, especially in being with people. She loved her family, friends, and neighbors, and enjoyed talking, laughing, visiting, and simply sharing life with everyone around her. Her gentle nature, faith, joy, and playful sassiness left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Opal’s brothers and sisters held a special place in her heart, and their bond remained extraordinarily close throughout their lives. Raised Catholic, Opal had a deep faith in Jesus that she shared with her family. Every Saturday morning, they gathered by video call to pray together—a cherished tradition that reflected the love, faith, and closeness that united them together.
But perhaps no one knew Opal’s heart better than her three children. She loved Troy, Dale, and Kimberly deeply and sacrificed for them throughout her life. Being their mother was one of the greatest parts of who she was. She put her children before herself and wanted nothing more than to see them loved, cared for, and happy.
Opal is survived by her three children, Troy White and his wife, Elise; Dale White; and Kimberly DelRosario and her husband, Allan; her five grandchildren, Lauren, Savanna, Ian, Ryan, and Ava; her brothers, Theodore Meisner, Houston “Paul” Meisner, and Gilbert Meisner; and her sisters, Carlene Graft and Laquita Sims, along with her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl R. Meisner and Pauline Annetta Meisner, and her sister, Odetta Brutscher.
Those who loved Opal will carry with them the memories of her kindness, her gentle spirit, her faith, her laughter, and the simple joy she found in being with the people she loved. She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave will remain a part of the lives she touched for all of eternity.
