East Main Street in Glasgow is expected to close completely between Franklin Street and Morgan Street beginning Monday, Oct. 5, for approximately 45 days, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3.
The cabinet announced the closure in its weekly traffic impact report. The cabinet will be replacing a culvert.
A signed detour will direct traffic to Columbia Avenue, KY 1519 and the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway. The cabinet advises motorists to plan for additional travel time during the closure.
The report also includes an update on KY 90 between Glasgow and Cave City. The majority of work is complete, the construction zone has been removed and normal traffic flow has resumed, according to the cabinet.
Work continues on U.S. 31-E south of Glasgow. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures from near J. Carter Road at mile point 8 to near the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway at mile point 12.
Crews will complete drainage improvements at several locations along that section of U.S. 31-E. The project also includes a new turn lane at Windy Hills Road.
Minor widening throughout the corridor will create a 4-foot centerline buffer between opposing travel lanes, according to the cabinet.
